CDO Bloggers GTKY at The Seda Centrio Meeting Room

What do I like most about Ayala Hotels and Resorts flagship hotel in Cagayan de Oro? Since I first met SEDA CENTRIO’s start up crew led by Jeffrey Enriquez at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro (Mother Club) way back in 2012, I never ceased to be astounded by the team’s ability to deliver over and beyond what was expected.

So when I approached Sales Director Carol Valdez a few weeks ago about the possibility of our CDO Bloggers holding our Getting To Know You (GTKY) event from 5 to 7PM last April 30.

I was only requesting for the use of their Foyer (that space between the elevators and the pool) and perhaps a bit of snacks like their Misto “delightful selection of unlimited premium coffee or tea paired with irresistible afternoon bites and light snacks.” And Bloggers being bloggers, the complimentary WiFi access was right up our alley, enabling us to post to access our Instagram, Facebook and other Social Media while we went about our GTKY.

At the time, it didn’t look too good since it was nearing the end of the month and looking like their budget for the marketing was already kapus, but in typical Seda resolve and optimism, Ms. Carol told me “she would see what she could do.”

As the date drew nearer, Ms Carol told us Seda Centrio could accommodate us but they had prepared “a little something” for us at The Meeting Room (their smallest function room ideal for a board meeting and enough to seat 20 persons comfortably) after we were done with our GTKY at The Foyer.

Turns out we never did get to The Foyer since The Meeting Room was just snug enough to fit all six of our new members and eight officers who made it.

Best of all and Surprise! Surprise! The Seda Centrio Team of Ms. Carol and Communications Officer Eiya Aliñabon Pupos prepared no mere snacks but a veritable FIESTA starring their Wonderful, Scrumptious and Mind Blowing Food Platters!

Served by Misto’s Joanne, The Food Platters included the new Suds and Sides with chicharon bulaklak, bone marrow, sous vide beef tendon and lechon kawaliwhich usually comes with six bottles of beer best for a boys or girls night out; and also the new Charcuterie and Cheese featuring Parma Ham, Salami Milano, Salami Picante, Smoked Salmon, Manchego Cheese, Parmesan, Blue Cheese, Gouda Cheese with Dried Figs, Dried Apricot, Nuts, Pickles, and Green Apples served with four complimentary glasses of wine!

Then there was the Surf and Turf seafood platter with BBQ Ribs, and your choice of Fried, Peruvian or Inasal chicken, grilled prawns, and baked mussels. Also served in our south side of the room was the All Meat Platter with BBQ Ribs, Lechon Kawali, Bone Marrow, and your choice of Fried, Peruvian or Inasal chickenwith grilled veggie sidings.

Some of us also got to taste one of the Executive Lunch Sets Joanne served us which was I believe the Roasted Peruvian Chicken, though those jet setting execs who have little of lunch time in their hands would also have their choice of  Lechon Kawali, Calamansi Fried Chicken, Grilled Tangigue or Mushroom Risottoserved with a side of Caesar Salad, and either Aji Spiced Pumpkin Soup or Mushroom Soup, all set ready in a jiffy!

We had a grand time tasting and passing around the platters (some didn’t make it from the north to south side of the table) and interacting with our new members who were able to make it: Dae NerysMJ Arceño PañaItsLave FerolinoRhea Camus RebolosMaria Sheila Batistil Estrada and Virgo Sapphire.

Afterwards, the newbies were taken on a tour of the hotel premises by Ms. Eiya while the most of us officers loafed in The Meeting Room to catch our collective breath after breezing through all those glorious platters.

Thanks to Judy TevesJenJacqsPaul Miki, Mimai Poblete, Ma An Bernido, Big Mike Abonitalla, Mommy Ruby and EmEm “Lady Soda” Aban for taking time to welcome our new members to CDO Bloggers.

And most of all, our collective, sincerest thanks to Seda Centrio especially Sales Director Carol Valdez, Communications Officer Eiya Aliñabon Pupos, Hotel Manager Armand Angeles, Chef Chris Lugtu, F&B Manager Randy Dreisbach and Joanne and company from Misto and the kitchen, daghang salamat sa inyong tanan! Once again, you have delighted us beyond our wildest expectations!
