TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental - Phividec Industrial Authority will host the Philippine Industrial Summit this November in Cagayan de Oro City.

During the activity launch Tuesday (August 13), Phividec Industrial Authority administrator Franklin Quijano said the two-day event will occur on November 25 to 27 at Limketkai Luxe Hotel.

The Philippine Industrial Summit aims to gather champions and tycoons from various industries to establish networks and create a cohesive vision of a modern industry that will ambitiously jumpstart an industrial revolution that will set the country forward to a global economic platform.

Quijano said he decided to organize the summit, taking on cue President Duterte's issuance of Administrative Order 18 which seeks to develop industrial ecozones in the countryside.

The administrator added that the summit is also in line with the administration's Build Build Build policy, pointing out that the industrial sector has a great role in the program.

In particular, the summit will converge players in manufacturing, agriculture and electronics and rally them to keep up with the latest standards in technology.

"Through the acquisition of advanced technologies and the adoption of innovative practices, the country can achieve socio-economic development and globally competitive. The upcoming PIS 2019 makes us prepare for the future," Quijano said.

Phividec is a 3,000-hectare special economic zone in Misamis Oriental. It still has 1,700 hectares of space for new investors.
