P12m worth of property destroyed in Carmen fire

CAGAYAN de Oro City—Fire authorities are still investigating the Monday dawn fire that struck Mabolo Street in Barangay Carmen at dawn on Monday.

District fire Marshall Supt Allan Cabut said his investigators are still trying to investigate the fire the fire that leveled 80 houses in Mabolo Street in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City at dawn on Monday.

Cabut said the fire that lasted about 30 minutes before firemen put out the fire destroyed Php12 million worth of property.

“Some 80 houses were destroyed and our fire investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire. Although, Cabut said the fire started from the house of a certain Roger Cabañeros.”

Cabut said it took hours before firemen manage to put out the fire due to lack of access road and the availability of firemen who help put our the fire during the fire incident.

“Some fire volunteer fire brigades did not send their fire volunteers for fear of the Coronavirus Disease Covid-19),” Cabut said.

Cabut said no one was injured in the fire incident.
