CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The deadly killer coronavirus disease (covid-19) scare continued to haunt people of all ages as its unstoppable onslaught were felt in many parts of the globe, killing more than half million and infecting eleven million people.
In Cagayan de Oro City, the surge of the virus infection count also continued to scare city residents, with infections now at 70, according to the City Health Department.
DEADLY CORONAVIRUS DISEASE. The unstoppable onslaught of covid-19 continues to haunt scientists who are still unable to finally discover the right vaccine which would kill and contain the virus and prevent from further spreading all over the globe. Johns Hopkins University now records almost 600,000 deaths and 11 million infected people around the world.
Most of th latest infections recorded by the department were Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs). Most also of those included in the latest count of virus infections came from strongly-hit areas in the country such as Metro Manila and Cebu City, it was learned.
Cebu City is now placed by the by IATF-National under Enhanced Community Quarantine category (ECQ) as more than six thousand people were confirmed positive of the deadly coronavirus disease, while Metro Manila was also where the bulk of contamination and infections started a few month's back.
Based on the official records of the health department in the region as of July 6 were three (3) new recoveries, 50 active cases of which 43 are ROFs/LSIs and six locally transmitted (assymptomatic). There is also one hospital confinement, the health department daily briefer recorded.

ALAGAR ALSO LATEST VICTIM
Meanwhile, a top-ranking official at Camp Alagar in this city has also confirmed that two of their ranking officials tested positive of the deadly coronavirus disease.
Camp Alagar spokesperson Lt. Col Mardy Hortillosa told the media the two top officials, including a civilian, are now quarantined at an isolated area to prevent them from contaminating the virus.
Hortilloza said the two latest victims of the coronavirus disease (covid-19) were newly appointed PNP commissioned officials from outside of Northern Mindanao.
Hortillosa said after the police officers arrived at the PNP-10 headquarters for their new assignments, they were tested, and the result have confirmed them positive of the virus. The two PNP officers were now isolated at the City Isolation Unit in Cagayan de Oro.
The PNP-10 spokesman also told the media there were also three PNP personnel, including a civilian, who were taken samples, as they were in close contact with the covid-19 confirmed case police officials.
Camp Alagar also underwent disinfection and City Hall personnel headed by Dr Joselito Retuya have already started contact tracing to identify all people who maybe in close contact with the two police officials including their immediate families.
